Membership Information

Membership in our organization is open to anyone interested. As stated on the United Nations Association in Canada’s official website, there is no set membership fee, because we believe that all Canadians should have the opportunity to become members, regardless of their financial situation. However, because UNA-Canada relies on membership donations to continue its important work, we encourage members to give as generously as they can.

We suggest a minimum donation of $25 for new members and $15 for students. Those who can afford more, please help by giving more. Tax receipts will be issued for all donations of $10 and up. Membership automatically entitles members to the benefits of their local branch, if they choose to join respective branches. To also become a member of our local branch, please indicate so in your membership form.

​In Edmonton, we will keep you updated and informed as to what we do and aim to do and how you may be involved if you choose to be.

How to become a Member

Option 1

Complete this form and either mail it directly to the National Office at 400-30 Metcalfe Street, Ottawa, ON K1P 5L4, including your donation (cheques only!), or email it to membership@unac.org and call 613-232-5751 x258 to provide your payment information over the phone.

Option 2

Online through Canada Helps

There is a section titled “APPLY YOUR DONATION TO A SPECIFIC FUND SET UP BY THIS CHARITY”

Please choose “UNA-Canada Branch Donations” and be sure to specify the “Edmonton Branch Membership” in the text box immediately below. Otherwise, your donation will only be routed to the United Nations Association in Canada National Office, and you will not be considered a member of the Edmonton Branch!

Print a confirmation of payment and send an electronic copy to president@edmonton.unac.org. This ensures that the Edmonton Branch is aware of your donation and can add you to our mailing list (if you so choose), so you can stay up to date on our local activities.
